Job Overview

Position: Assistant Teacher—Preschool at Kindernest Montessori

As an Assistant Teacher, you will be integral to a classroom environment accommodating up to 20 children aged three to five years. Collaborating closely with the lead Montessori educator, you will facilitate distinctive learning experiences tailored to support each child's cognitive, linguistic, social, emotional, and physical growth. Additionally, you will foster meaningful connections with both children and their families.

Compensation and Benefits
  • This is a salaried position with eligibility for benefits.
  • Salary Range: Competitive for a 10 or 12-month role.
  • Working hours are from 7:30 AM to 3:30 PM daily.
  • This position includes paid time off for federal and Massachusetts State holidays, as well as vacation weeks aligned with local school schedules.
  • Additional benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, disability coverage, a 401(k) plan with a 4% employer match, and a flexible spending account for dependent care.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Preferred: Associate's degree.
  • Two or more years of experience in early childhood education, guiding children from infancy through third grade with proven results.
  • Primary diploma from an AMI, AMS, or other MACTE-accredited institution.
  • Ability to fulfill all credentialing requirements for lead early childhood educators in Massachusetts.
  • Compliance with all additional training and eligibility standards of Massachusetts, including background checks and required documentation.
  • Experience in monitoring and maintaining accurate records of individual student progress.
  • Effective communication skills with young children and a commitment to their safety.
  • Demonstrated dedication to diversity, equity, and inclusion, with experience working across diverse backgrounds.
  • MA EEC assistant teacher or teacher qualification.
