Job Summary

Bread Alone Bakery is seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Distribution Supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of our distribution department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and high-quality operation of your assigned station(s), as well as supporting the logistics of shipping and delivering bread.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of your assigned station(s), including troubleshooting issues and communicating with other supervisors and managers as needed.
  • Support the logistics of shipping and delivering bread, including coordinating with other departments and teams as necessary.
  • Develop and implement sustainable practices in the work environment, working collaboratively with teammates to achieve shared goals.
  • Deliver high-quality organic baked goods to the Hudson Valley and surrounding region, consistently meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Communicate effectively with managers and other team members to ensure seamless operations and address any potential delays or product quality issues.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety guidelines, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and company culture, including proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and assigned uniform.
  • Take ownership and responsibility for your station, embodying the work ethic, curiosity, gritty determination, honesty, and humility that is at the core of Bread Alone's management principles.
Requirements
  • Able to stand for long periods of time while executing tasks quickly and accurately.
  • Able to work in a physically demanding fast-paced environment.
  • Able to tolerate exposure to high levels of heat and cold.
  • Able to twist and bend repeatedly for long periods of time.
  • Respect for and comfort with a diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Able to pull, push, move and lift to waist level.
  • Able to carry awkward and shifting weights up to 50 pounds in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Able to work with, handle, operate, and control hot equipment and products in a safe manner according to Bread Alone guidelines.
  • Able and willing to use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and assigned uniform as required per company policy.
  • Willing to follow all safety guidelines set out by Bread Alone.
  • Willing to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices which includes but are not limited to: Removing any visible or exposed piercings and body jewelry, personal accessories, false nails & refraining from makeup at work (ie. mascara or heavy foundation, lipstick).
  • Willing to take responsibility for your own and others safety by following all safety rules and regulations and reporting any unsafe conditions to your manager.
  • The Bakery is open 365 days a year and team members must be willing to work consistently throughout the year which includes holidays and weekends.
