Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Contracts Administrator to join our team at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Contracts Management team, you will be responsible for supporting all facets of prime contract administration within the Business, Construction and Facilities Department (BCFD), Contracts & Asset Management Group.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with APL staff and prospective customers to advise on contracting strategies and provide input on proposal development.
  • Review solicitation documents and draft contract terms and conditions for risk and acceptability.
  • Negotiate and administer a wide range of contracts, task orders, and contract/task order modifications.
  • Maintain data in electronic files and business systems.
  • Develop and implement process improvements related to business practices, systems, and tools aimed at increasing efficiency, productivity, and flexibility.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
  • 3 or more years of professional-level experience as a Contracts Manager/Administrator in federal government contracting.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and FAR supplements.
  • Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient MS Word and Excel skills.
  • Ability to form close and effective partnerships.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and independently solve problems.
  • Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance or higher.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 3 or more years of professional-level experience as a Contracts Manager/Administrator in federal government 'Prime' contracting.
