Contracts Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Contracts Administrator to support the Contracts Management team at Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for managing all facets of prime contract administration, including contract formation, negotiation, and administration.
Key Responsibilities- Manage a portfolio of complex government contracts, including contract formation, negotiation, and administration.
- Develop and implement contract strategies to ensure timely awards and seamless contractual coverage.
- Review solicitation documents and draft contract terms and conditions for risk and acceptability.
- Negotiate and administer contracts, task orders, and contract/task order modifications.
- Provide expert advice on contracting strategies and negotiate with Contracting Officers to ensure timely awards and seamless contractual coverage.
- Develop and maintain data in electronic files and business systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Business or related field.
- 3 or more years of professional level experience as a Contracts Manager/Administrator in federal government contracting.
- In-depth knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and FAR supplements.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
- Proficient MS Word and Excel skills.
- Ability to form close and effective partnerships.
- Ability to multi-task, meet tight deadlines, and independently solve problems.
- Ability to obtain a Top Secret security clearance or higher.
- 3 or more years of professional level experience as a Contracts Manager/Administrator in federal government "Prime" contracting.
- Top Secret Clearance or higher.
