Role of Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineer

The Supply Chain Manufacturing Engineering team plays a crucial role in overseeing the supply chain for Textron. This includes both tactical and strategic initiatives. Tactical efforts focus on providing technical support for specific components and programs at suppliers, while strategic initiatives encompass broader enterprise goals not tied to any single part or program. Our primary objective is to ensure the availability of materials that meet quality and safety standards across all Textron Assembly and Manufacturing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide guidance to internal stakeholders regarding supplier capabilities and capacities to aid in supplier selection.
  • Evaluate and offer producibility insights for new designs.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve technical issues related to suppliers both at Textron and at their facilities.
  • Detect and address capability gaps within Textron's supply chain.
  • Assess new supplier readiness and capability to deliver materials to Textron.
  • Review corrective actions for supplier material discrepancies.

Qualifications:

Skills Required:

  • Strong communication skills are essential. An SCME must cultivate and sustain effective relationships with peers, internal and external clients, suppliers, and management.
  • Technical knowledge of non-metallic composite processes, tooling, or design is necessary.
  • Ability to identify and prioritize both explicit and implicit tasks to achieve objectives.
  • Proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in CAD for part visualization.
  • Competence in MS Office applications.

Requirements for Success:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in the aerospace or related manufacturing sectors.
  • A Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related fields is required.
  • Advanced degrees may be considered as additional experience.
