About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Fiber Splicer to join our team at Deeply Digital, a leading provider of communications, construction, and consulting services in Western Colorado. As a Fiber Splicer, you will play a critical role in the construction, maintenance, and repair of fiber optic networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Efficiently splice and terminate fiber optic cables to ensure optimal performance and minimal signal loss.
  • Identify and troubleshoot fiber optic issues, ensuring timely resolution to minimize service disruptions.
  • Conduct rigorous quality checks to guarantee that splicing work meets industry standards and our company's high-quality expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of splice locations, cable routes, and other relevant data for future reference.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your team.
  • Perform routine maintenance on splicing equipment and tools to ensure they are in good working condition.
  • Collaborate with the network engineering and operations teams to coordinate and execute fiber optic projects efficiently.
Requirements
  • Proven experience in fiber optic splicing, with a minimum of [X years] of hands-on experience.
  • Relevant certifications such as FOA (Fiber Optic Association) or equivalent are a plus.
  • Proficiency in using splicing equipment, fusion splicing, and OTDR testing.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to maintain accuracy in splice work.
  • Committed to following safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a secure working environment.
  • Willingness to travel regionally inside of Western Colorado, with occasional overnight trips.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including working in various weather conditions and confined spaces.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27-$33 per hour, based on experience

Expected hours: 40 – 55 per week

Experience:

  • Wireless/Fiber/Cabling/Splicing: 2-3 years (Preferred)

Ability to Relocate:

  • Durango, CO: Relocate before starting work (Required)

Work Location: Multiple locations. Travel is required for this position.
