Role Summary:
Abidi Solutions is in search of a skilled Control Technician to enhance our operations in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill region. This position focuses on the final inspection of control systems, program downloads, troubleshooting, and addressing service requests on existing installations. The ideal candidate should possess practical experience with Tridium, Honeywell, and Johnson FX Controls, coupled with a solid foundation in control systems installation and upkeep.

Primary Duties:

  • Program Implementation: Upload programs into field devices as specified by engineering.
  • System Verification: Conduct thorough point-to-point verification of control equipment and third-party systems to guarantee optimal performance.
  • Service Management: Efficiently respond to and resolve control service requests.
  • Troubleshooting Expertise: Diagnose and rectify wiring problems to ensure system reliability.
  • Panel Assembly: Accurately terminate control panels with attention to detail.
  • Technical Guidance: Offer technical support to installation teams during the setup phase.
  • Testing and Balancing Support: Collaborate with teams to assist in testing and balancing activities for HVAC systems.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Tridium Proficiency: Previous experience with Tridium (AX/N4 certification is advantageous).
  • Control Systems Acumen: Familiarity with Honeywell and Johnson Controls (JCI) field controllers is beneficial.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong grasp of ladder logic control programming, electronic wiring, and electrical circuits.
  • Regulatory Knowledge: Awareness of State and Local Electrical codes.
  • HVAC Understanding: Knowledge of mechanical HVAC systems.
  • Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in controls installation or equivalent accredited training.
  • Driver's License: A valid driver's license is required for site visits and service calls.
