Early Childhood Education Instructor

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Early Childhood Education Instructor to join our team at College of the Canyons. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching and mentoring students in the field of early childhood education, with a focus on preschool master teaching and instructor roles.
Responsibilities- Teach and mentor students in early childhood education, with a focus on preschool master teaching and instructor roles.
- Develop and implement curriculum that aligns with state and national standards for early childhood education.
- Assess student learning and provide feedback to students.
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement educational programs and services.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in early childhood education.
- Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field.
- Current State of California Commission on Teacher Credentialing Master Teacher Permit or higher.
- 2 years of work experience with preschool children in an instructional capacity in a child care and development program, working at least three hours per day within the last four years.
- Completion of Working with Families from Diverse Backgrounds coursework.
- Evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic socioeconomic, cultural, ethnicities, and abilities of children and community college students.
- Current Adult, Child, Infant CPR and Pediatric First Aid certifications.
The teaching assignment may be at the Valencia or Canyon Country campus, or other college teaching locations. Part-time faculty positions are as needed positions and do not accrue rights to tenure.
