Job Overview: The Clinical Dietitian is responsible for delivering safe and effective evidence-based nutritional therapy that aligns with the standards set by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics. This role involves managing individual nutrition care in partnership with the healthcare team and other nutrition specialists.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of individual nutritional needs through interviews, food and nutrition histories, and medical record reviews.
  • Formulate tailored nutrition plans that include dietary recommendations, meal patterns, and supplementation strategies.
  • Collaborate with the healthcare team to establish patient care goals.
  • Coordinate the implementation of specialized dietary regimens.
  • Document initial assessments and ongoing nutritional care plans in accordance with established standards.
  • Evaluate and monitor the nutritional status of patients, providing recommendations for optimal care.
  • Educate individuals and families on nutrition and therapeutic diets, considering their educational, cultural, and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Facilitate group nutrition classes as needed.
  • Engage in food and nutrition research to inform policy and recommendations for diverse populations.
  • Advocate for individuals and groups regarding nutrition-related issues, including food security and wellness resources.
  • Contribute to the development and evaluation of educational programs for dietetic interns and staff.
  • Serve as a mentor and preceptor for dietetic interns and students.
