Position Overview

Reporting to the Senior Director of Capital Improvements or their designated representative, this role entails comprehensive oversight of the planning, design, and execution of interior design initiatives for our clientele.

Responsibilities of the Project Manager - Interiors:

  • Formulate detailed project plans, encompassing timelines, budgets, and resource distribution.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other design professionals to ensure alignment with project objectives and client standards.
  • Conduct site assessments to determine project requirements, gather measurements, and evaluate existing conditions.
  • Develop and review design concepts, layouts, and comprehensive drawings.
  • Choose suitable materials, finishes, furnishings, and fixtures that fulfill both functional and aesthetic criteria.
  • Ensure designs adhere to district guidelines, building codes, and safety regulations.
  • Engage with school administrators, educators, and other stakeholders to comprehend their needs, preferences, and priorities.
  • Present design proposals and solicit feedback to refine and finalize project plans.
  • Maintain clear and effective communication with all project participants.
  • Supervise the execution of design projects from inception to completion.
  • Monitor progress, manage modifications, and ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
  • Coordinate with procurement teams to source necessary materials and services.
  • Ensure final installations meet the highest standards of craftsmanship and functionality.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, schedules, and financial records.
  • Implement and enforce safety protocols to safeguard workers and occupants during construction and installation phases.

Required Qualifications

The Project Manager - Interiors must possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Architecture, Interior Design) or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing interior design projects, with at least five years in the education and public sector.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and design software (AutoCAD).
  • Exceptional organizational, design, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
