Senior Accountant Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Fruit of the Loom, a leading international basic apparel company. As a Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for completing month and year-end close, account and balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting and analysis, weekly payroll for plant employees, and ad hoc projects for the facility.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete month and year-end close, ensuring the timeliness and accuracy of accounting records with minimal assistance.
  • Perform routine accounting activities, prepare and record financial entries, and identify and resolve discrepancies.
  • Create and issue monthly operating and financial reports, communicating variances or concerns to appropriate leadership.
  • Complete monthly account reconciliations and generate and review reports for daily business transactions, including cash, AP, bookings, and backlog listing.
  • Process weekly payroll and submit data to Corporate for payment, and roll product costs in ERP system for new products based on bills of material and routings.
  • Manage petty cash and p-card purchases/payments, coding and reconciling of purchase transactions, and complete ad hoc requests and special projects.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field, or a combination of education and experience deemed equivalent to a bachelor's degree.
  • Strong understanding of financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting methods.
  • Experience with ERP systems and advanced MS Office skills.
  • Effective communication internally and externally, excellent organizational skills, and strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
  • Minimum 5+ years of accounting experience.
