The Insurance Specialist will be responsible for monitoring denials, appeals, and resolutions from insurance carriers and working proactively to collect from insurance carriers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor and track claims, denials, and appeals in a practice management system.
  • Communicate with provider offices and insurance carriers to resolve issues.
  • Identify error trends and communicate with management to implement corrective actions.
  • Make necessary changes or additions to patient insurance records.
  • Document all actions in the appropriate notes field.
  • Provide requested medical records to payers.
  • File secondary insurance claims for all patients.
  • Respond to patient, provider, or payer inquiries and perform necessary corrections/actions.
  • Review all paper claims for completeness and accuracy prior to forwarding to payers.
  • Notify the Coding Manager about insurance coding denials.
  • Consistently display a positive attitude and a personal commitment to excellence.
  • Remain current on insurance issues and accepted insurances by White-Wilson Medical Center.
  • Attend all department meetings and clinic required meetings.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of medical business office experience with experience in medical billing.
Work Environment:

This position requires regular and reliable on-site attendance.
