Medical Laboratory Technologist

Catholic Health Service is seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a Medical Laboratory Technologist, you will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and special clinical laboratory examinations and procedures in the specialties or subspecialties for which you are qualified.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and monitor the department's quality control policies and ensure documentation of all quality control activities, instrument, and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
- Correlate laboratory methods, procedures, and patient test results with age-specific population criteria and demonstrate appropriate understanding of the needs of patients and visitors for each specific age group.
- Establish and implement service priorities, workflow patterns; monitor workflow to assure prompt and efficient delivery of services.
- Demonstrate the ability to evaluate departmental performance and recommend measures to improve services and quality of current methodologies.
- Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or related science from an accredited school.
- Licensed under the NYS Dept. of Education as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist.
- Knowledge of hematology, chemistry, blood ban, and/or microbiology preferred.
- Hospital experience desired.
- Must work weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Good oral and written communication skills essential.
USD $49.87 - USD $63.00 /Hr.
QualificationsThis range serves as a good faith estimate and actual pay will encompass a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience. The salary range or rate listed does not include any bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation that may be applicable to this job and it does not include the value of benefits.
