Job Summary

Are you a dedicated Medical Officer looking to make a difference in the Tohono O'odham Nation? We are seeking an experienced physician to join our team and provide exceptional patient care in our ambulatory clinic and inpatient settings. As a Medical Officer, you will have the opportunity to work with a diverse range of patients and provide comprehensive healthcare services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Patient Care: Provide high-quality patient care in ambulatory clinic and inpatient settings, including diagnosis, treatment, and consultation as needed.
  • Medical Staffing: Work under the general supervision of the Clinical Director and collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide effective interdisciplinary healthcare services.
  • Administrative Duties: Maintain accurate and detailed medical records, ensure compliance with accreditation standards, and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Cultural Competence: Demonstrate respect and empathy for patients from diverse backgrounds and cultural practices.
  • Communication: Effectively communicate with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care coordination.
Requirements
  • Candidate Profile: Doctor of Medicine or Doctor of Osteopathy from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada.
  • Experience: At least one to two years of professional experience beyond completion of formal internship training, or equivalent experience in breadth and intensity.
  • Licensure: Permanent, complete, and unrestricted license to practice medicine in a State, District of Columbia, Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, or the United States territory.
  • Certifications: Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) are required. Additional certifications may be required based on departmental needs.
