Job Overview

Dean's Professional Services is actively seeking a qualified Member Support Specialist to join a Healthcare Organization in Texas. This role requires commitment, as it involves working throughout the week.

The Member Support Specialist serves as a crucial advocate for members, acting as a liaison between the Health Plan and Providers to guarantee access to necessary care. This role involves establishing a presence in the community, promoting member education, and identifying and addressing systemic barriers that may hinder members' access to appropriate care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Address and resolve member complaints and formal grievances, identifying potential access barriers and following the grievance procedure.
  • Investigate and address access and cultural sensitivity issues raised by Member Services staff, State personnel, providers, advocacy organizations, and recipients.
  • Engage with local community organizations to gain insights into the unique healthcare needs of members and update educational materials as necessary.
  • Act as the primary contact for member advocacy groups, human services agencies, and State entities.
  • Ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Must reside in Texas
  • High school diploma or equivalent – Required
  • Community Health Worker Certification (CHW) – Required
  • Minimum of 3 years of customer service experience in a healthcare setting – Required
  • Experience in telephone customer service – Required
  • Familiarity with Medicare and/or Medicaid – Preferred
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish – Preferred
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite and MS Word – Preferred
  • Demonstrated punctuality and reliability in the workplace

Position Details:

  • Work 7 Days a Week
  • Schedule: Monday to Friday 6:00 am – 7:00 pm / Saturday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm / Sunday 7:30 am – 4:30 pm
  • Compensation starting at $17/hr. (based on experience) plus benefits.
