Scope & Purpose of Position:

The role involves supporting the Lead Teacher in designing and executing an engaging curriculum that meets the developmental needs of young learners.



Responsibilities:
  • Participate actively in all mandatory meetings, including orientation, team discussions, parent gatherings, and training sessions.
  • Follow all classroom protocols established by the Lead/Head Teacher.
  • Assist in managing classroom activities and facilitate children's engagement. This includes participating in ongoing communication with parents and contributing to center, department, and agency initiatives.
  • Support the completion of all classroom-related documentation, such as attendance records, nutrition logs, lesson plans, daily health assessments, fire drill documentation, narratives, and daily notes.
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of educational programs that cater to the individual and collective needs of children.
  • Foster a collaborative environment by maintaining positive relationships with colleagues.
  • Adapt work hours to meet the needs of the program.
  • Exhibit professional attire, conduct, and an environment that reflects high standards.
  • Oversee and sustain the classroom environment, ensuring cleanliness, organization, and adherence to health and safety regulations.
  • Conduct daily observations and record behavioral and physical assessments of children, assisting with progress reports and goal setting.
  • Support efforts to achieve and maintain NAEYC accreditation standards.
  • Understand and comply with personnel policies and procedures as outlined in the staff and agency handbooks.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to build positive relationships and communicate effectively with young children and their families.
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Completion of KeepSAfe and all other training requirements upon hiring.
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid is required.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent and a Child Development Credential (CDA) are necessary. Candidates without a CDA should have experience working with young children and an approved educational plan to obtain a CDA or higher within a specified timeframe.
