Job Title: Preschool Head Teacher Full Time

Job Type: Full-time

Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Preschool Head Teacher to join our team at YWCA Hartford Region. As a Preschool Head Teacher, you will be responsible for providing a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children aged 8 weeks to 5 years old. You will work closely with our team to develop and implement engaging and educational programs that promote the physical, emotional, intellectual, and social development of our young learners.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement curriculum plans that align with state and national standards
  • Lead a team of assistant teachers and volunteers to ensure a high-quality learning environment
  • Monitor and assess the developmental progress of each child
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with parents, staff, and the local community
  • Ensure compliance with state licensing requirements, NAEYC accreditation criteria, and health and safety standards
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager to supervise, train, and evaluate assistant teachers and volunteers

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood, Sociology, or Education
  • Minimum of 1 year of work experience in an educational setting with children
  • Connecticut State Office of Early Childhood Head Teacher Certificate or ability to obtain one
  • Demonstrated knowledge of curriculum planning and child development
  • CPR/First Aid Certified or ability to obtain certification within the first two months of employment

Work Environment:

This is a full-time position, typically working Monday through Friday, with scheduled hours varying between 6:45 AM and 6:15 PM. Depending on enrollment, employees may be asked to provide support to other Early Learning Centers occasionally.
