About the Role

The Manager of Automation Maintenance Operations is a critical position within the Customer Operations organization at Symbotic. This role is responsible for leading the daily activities of the Maintenance Department in the areas of Safety, Quality, and Maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for system upkeep and operations of automated adapters used to interface with the Symbotic structure.

Key Responsibilities

The Manager of Automation Maintenance Operations will be responsible for ensuring that the safety commitments in compliance with OSHA, Symbotic, and our customers' processes and procedures are met daily. This includes conducting safety training and performing safety observations. The role will also involve executing Symbotic's maintenance program through training, accountability, and delegation to maintenance technicians and leads. Additionally, the Manager will supervise maintenance technicians and leads, including assigning work and determining work schedules. Coaching regarding professional development of maintenance employees is also a key aspect of this role.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have an Associate degree or equivalent experience/certification in electronics, automotive, automation, manufacturing, or a related field. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a similar position is required. The successful candidate will also have excellent written, verbal, and visual presentation communications skills. Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience, particularly with Maximo, is highly desirable. Strong electro-mechanical skills and the ability to work independently are also essential. The Manager of Automation Maintenance Operations will be responsible for coordinating initiatives to reduce operating costs and completing tasks in a timely and organized manner. They will also be responsible for planning, scheduling, and monitoring the timely completion of maintenance work orders. The ideal candidate will be able to work in a fast-paced environment and have a high sense of urgency. They will also be able to take critical feedback and recognition positively and be a team player. Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is also required.

Work Environment

The Manager of Automation Maintenance Operations will work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The role will require the ability to work at heights of up to 45 feet and within restrictive areas of 24 inches. The employee will be required to stand/walk for up to 10-12 hours and frequently required to walk and reach with hands and arms. The employee will also be required to safely and efficiently lift items weighing up to 50lbs and move items weighing up to 80lbs. The role will also require the ability to work in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit and be subject to environmental conditions, protection from weather conditions but not necessarily temperature changes. The employee will be required to wear PPE, including a hard hat, safety vest, steel toes, eyeglasses, ear protection, and fall protection (e.g., safety harness).
