Job Summary

West Valley Pediatric Dentistry & Orthodontics is seeking a skilled and compassionate Pediatric Orthodontic Assistant to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in assisting our pediatric providers in providing exceptional care to our pediatric patients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet and check-in patients upon arrival, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience.
  • Schedule and confirm appointments for patients, utilizing medical scheduling systems with Dentrix.
  • Answer phone calls and respond to inquiries from patients, providing accurate and helpful information.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and friendly demeanor.
  • Knowledge of dental office procedures and terminology is preferred.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA regulation.
  • Present Recommended Dental Procedures along with estimated patient/parent portions.
  • Follow-up with unscheduled treatment plans.
  • Submit Prior authorizations to insurance carriers.
  • Knowledge of AHCCCS is preferred.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and treatment documentation.
  • Monitor and track patient progress.
  • Assist with scheduling and appointment coordination.
  • Help maintain a welcoming and child-friendly atmosphere in the office.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Successful completion of an accredited dental assisting program.
  • Prior experience working in a pediatric dental or orthodontic practice is preferred.
  • Knowledge of orthodontic procedures and equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills, especially with children and adolescents.
  • Empathetic and compassionate nature.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and sterile environment.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
