Your Role

We are excited to announce an opportunity for a seasoned and driven Senior Geotechnical Project Leader to join our dynamic team. The selected candidate will engage in projects with our Ground Engineering and Materials, Earth & Environment Team, contributing to a thriving organization that addresses client needs and resolves complex challenges.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and nurture long-term client relationships by delivering expert technical guidance and responsive, quality consulting services.
  • Plan and oversee both straightforward and intricate subsurface geological exploration initiatives, including drilling and test pit investigations.
  • Provide comprehensive interpretation of geological data, including core, televiewer, and hole alignment information.
  • Develop conceptual geological models and interpret subsurface conditions effectively.
  • Review geological samples, assign unit identifications, and supervise the preparation of exploration documentation.
  • Lead and manage geologists in conducting geological reconnaissance and mapping to identify potential hazards.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in rock mass characterization and all processes related to rock and soil logging.
  • Act as a liaison between drill rig geologists and grouting specialists.
  • Guide the installation of monitoring wells and geotechnical instrumentation.
  • Conduct geological research, draft, and review project proposals.
  • Write and evaluate geotechnical and geological reports.
  • Provide technical direction and mentorship to junior staff members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to execute project work efficiently.

Who You Are

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Geology, Earth Science, Geological Engineering, or Engineering Geology.
  • A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience managing subsurface investigations, including drilling and soil classification.
  • Project experience with dams, hydroelectric power stations, and related geohazard projects.
  • Possession of a valid LG or LEG in the relevant state or the ability to obtain it.
  • Willingness to conduct physically demanding fieldwork in diverse terrains and weather conditions.
  • Strong communication and writing skills, with a proven ability to produce reports.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • 10+ years of job-related experience.
  • Established client relationships in relevant sectors.
  • Experience with tunneling, rock mass characterization, and foundation design.
  • Proven success in business development activities.
