About the Role

The Maintenance Technician - Equipment Specialist will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment. This position requires a strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as excellent troubleshooting and repair skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot equipment problems, using analytical skills and technical knowledge to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with equipment operators, product operators, and other departments to ensure effective communication and coordination.
  • Training and Development: Participate in maintenance training programs and on-the-job training to develop skills and expertise.
  • Other Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
  • Education: Preferred 2-year technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience: Preferred 2+ years of hydraulic mechanic work experience, with previous experience in injection molding machinery (Husky/Netstal/KM) a strong asset.
  • Skills: Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and excellent understanding of electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic drawings.
  • Personal Qualities: Team player with excellent attendance, communication, and problem-solving skills, able to work independently in a fast-paced production environment.
  • Physical Demands: Capable of physical mobility, including walking, sitting, bending, climbing, twisting, standing, pushing, pulling, and lifting/moving (up to 75 pounds).
  • Visual Requirements: Must have 20/20 vision with correction, and be able to differentiate color to detect defects.
  • Work Environment: Must be able to work around grease, oils, and solvents without adverse reaction, and be able to work in a production environment recognizing various sounds and alarms.
