Role Overview

This is a volunteer hybrid role to join the board of Seattle City Flag as the Director of Non-Profit Operations. The anticipated commitment is about 5-7 hours per week.

This position will serve as the official Secretary for Seattle City Flag and will be responsible for developing and managing documentation to maintain compliance with the Washington Secretary of State. The role will also collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer for financial filings, contribute to the development of internal policies and procedures, manage internal communication, and support the non-profit as it grows in scope.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support to the board and staff
  • Develop and manage documentation to maintain compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Collaborate with the Chief Financial Officer for financial filings and reporting
  • Contribute to the development of internal policies and procedures
  • Manage internal communication and support the non-profit's growth
  • Participate in the Committee of Non-Profit Development and collaborate with other directors to develop and execute strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented and execution-oriented individual
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Ability to proactively seek clarity on deadlines and public filings
  • Growth mindset and ability to learn new skills
  • Experience in non-profit administration or a related field
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Knowledge of non-profit financial regulations and reporting
  • Past experience serving as a non-profit's official Secretary is a plus
  • Bachelor's degree in Non-Profit Management, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Passion for civic art and community building
