About the Position

**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly experienced Transit Program Director to lead our transit and rail projects across the region. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering complex transit and rail projects from planning to implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage high-profile transit and rail projects of various size and complexity
  • Develop, manage, and maintain project schedules and budgets
  • Lead development of project deliverables and provide quality control
  • Manage financial progress on projects
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports, analyses, and presentations
  • Lead and grow a multidisciplinary team of transit and rail focused planners and engineers
  • Maintain active market knowledge and understand internal and external capabilities, strengths, and weaknesses
  • Manage and grow key client relationships
  • Support regional and corporate strategic initiatives
  • Assist with annual business planning
  • Support business development efforts
Requirements
  • Strong understanding of transit and rail infrastructure and multi-discipline system integration
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Ability and interest to engage, inspire, and mentor our best and brightest
  • Deep market knowledge and visibility across the industry
  • Ability to thrive in highly collaborative team environments
  • Technical experience in multiple transit and rail design disciplines
  • Excellent technical written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent public speaking and business development skills
  • Strong capability in use of computer applications
  • Proficiency with project management applications
Qualifications
  • Degree in Urban/Transportation Planning, Civil Engineering, or related field
  • 15+ years of progressive technical experience in transit and rail planning/engineering and implementation of bus and rail transit improvements
  • 15 years of project management experience
  • A North Carolina PE license or AICP certification is required
  • A PMP certification is strongly preferred
