The Materials Management Technician plays a crucial role in overseeing inventory processes and ensuring efficient supply chain operations within the healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with Inventory VAC and other committees to enhance operational efficiency across various facilities.
- Manages the inventory process within designated storerooms, providing education to staff regarding contract modifications and material handling procedures.
- Monitors supply usage during PAR and departmental inventories, recommending product adjustments to supervisors as necessary.
- Updates sub-department inventories by adding or removing stock items, and adjusts par levels based on departmental requests.
- Assists facility departments with inquiries related to non-stock items and ensures proper follow-up on non-stock supplies.
- Advocates for Supply Chain departments regarding consignment and implantable supplies.
- Oversees the transition of contracts and the introduction of new products by facilitating staff communication to enhance product knowledge.
- Coordinates cycle counting within perpetual inventories to maintain accuracy and monitors inventory adjustments monthly.
- Prepares and organizes the annual inventory process for assigned areas.
- Ensures compliance with Returned Goods Authorizations, verifying that credits are processed according to established guidelines.
- Initiates and manages repairs, product returns, and recalls as required in designated areas.
- Provides training and support to new caregivers and those seeking to expand their knowledge of Supply Chain operations.
- Assists with vendor management within assigned areas.
- Implements cost-saving initiatives and performance improvement strategies aligned with organizational goals.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Specific Responsibilities in the Hills Market:
- Manages all Supply Chain activities related to inventory receipts from distribution centers and suppliers, ensuring a systematic approach for deliveries to end users.
- Oversees the shipping of freight and participates in leadership and facility meetings as required.
- Ensures accurate receiving of supplies and equipment, generating and reviewing special reports, including the Open PO report, on a weekly basis.
Specific Responsibilities in the Distribution Center:
- Coordinates the placement of substitute and conversion items within the Distribution Center, ensuring effective communication with relevant departments and Supply Chain teams.
- Maintains records of supply item usage and provides recommendations for optimal product placement within the Distribution Center.
- Oversees all returns to the Distribution Center, resolving discrepancies and retraining caregivers on the return process as necessary.
- Monitors new items in the Distribution Center to ensure anticipated usage and communicates any discrepancies to Supply Chain teams.
- Utilizes usage reports to identify items that are not moving and communicates potential action plans to Supply Chain teams.
- Collaborates daily with Procurement on out-of-stock items and facilitates communication regarding expected delivery dates and substitute items with Supply Chain end users.
- Reviews inventory-related reports daily and works directly with the assigned Procurement caregiver to resolve issues.
Additional Requirements:
Required:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in Inventory Management.
Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED Equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in Healthcare Materials Management.
Physical Requirements:
- Very heavy work, requiring the ability to exert over 25 pounds of force constantly, more than 50 pounds frequently, and more than 100 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work designated shift lengths, including 8 and 12 hours, which may include night shifts or irregular hours.
