Production Team Leader

Masonite International, a global building and construction materials leader, is seeking a skilled Production Team Leader to join their team. As a key member of the production team, this individual will be responsible for overseeing plant activities, supervising overall production, and delegating work assignments to ensure key performance indicators are met.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a team-based Lean Manufacturing environment and a college degree in a related field. They will be proficient in MS Office, Excel, Outlook, and have hands-on experience implementing Lean Manufacturing process systems. Excellent communication skills, reliability, and a strong work ethic are essential for this role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee plant activities and supervise overall production to ensure key performance indicators are met
- Delegate work assignments to team members and provide guidance and support as needed
- Administer plant rules and policies in a fair and equitable manner
- Facilitate Gemba walks and monitor machine center performance to ensure optimum efficiencies
- Participate in Tier meetings with senior leadership and make informed decisions
Deliverables:
- Safety: enforce safety practices and maintain a zero-tolerance attitude
- Quality: understand standards and requirements and work with precision and attention to detail
- Delivery: implement a just-in-time production strategy
- Inventory: manage inventory and be aware of inventory levels
- Productivity: measure efficiency of employees, equipment, and overall cost efficiency
- Build employee trust: be transparent and listen to employee concerns
