Role Summary:

Southern Utah University invites applications for the position of Marketing Lecturer within the Department of Marketing, Entrepreneurship, Sales, and Analytics at the Dixie L. This is a full-time, non-tenure track position with a focus on teaching excellence and student engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality instruction in undergraduate and graduate marketing courses, both online and on-campus.
  • Courses may include Digital Marketing, Marketing Principles, Marketing Management, among others.
  • Preferred candidates should possess expertise in specialized marketing areas such as marketing analytics, customer relationship management, or digital and social media marketing.
  • The expected teaching load is typically five courses per semester, with potential summer teaching opportunities available for additional compensation.
  • Meet scholarly and professional engagement standards to maintain faculty qualifications as per AACSB guidelines.
  • Mentor students in career exploration and job placement, aligning with the mission of the Dixie L. Leavitt School of Business.
  • Collaborate in a team-oriented environment, contributing to departmental and university service while fostering positive interactions with students and colleagues.
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Required Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in Marketing or a closely related field is essential.
  • Candidates must fulfill the faculty qualifications standards set by the Leavitt School of Business for AACSB classification.
  • Applicants holding a PhD should meet the academic criteria for Scholarly Academic (SA) or Practice Academic (PA) categories.
  • Those with a master's degree must qualify under either the Scholarly Practitioner (SP) or Instructional Practitioner (IP) categories.
  • Active research agendas relevant to teaching assignments are required for those classified as AACSB Scholarly Academic (SA) or Practice Academic (PA).
  • Demonstrated ability to provide an exceptional educational experience for students is a must.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in mentoring students through co-curricular and extracurricular activities, as well as assisting in career development.
  • Prior experience in online course development and instruction is advantageous.
  • Relevant professional experience in the marketing field is preferred.
