Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced General Manager to oversee all aspects of our HVAC and Plumbing business lines. This leader will drive growth, performance metrics, support culture, and develop all staff and management, constantly striving to be a world-class operator.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Development: Provide leadership, direction, and development to HVAC, Plumbing, Install, and Support teams ensuring quality work is on time, aligned with the budget, and to customer specifications.
- Business Growth and Planning: Develop forecasts for sales growth, market mix, and profitability with plans to meet such projections. Develop budgets for growth and profitability; track performance against those targets daily, weekly, and monthly – disseminate the information to your teams.
- Cost Control and Optimization: Review and control costs to reduce waste and unnecessary expenditures. Ensure proper pricing and adherence through routine job costing analysis; control material and equipment costs.
- Hiring and Labor Management: Own all hiring and termination decisions; control labor allocation and costs.
- Communication and Performance Management: Communicate standards, expectations, and performance – the targets and KPIs – to your direct reports and their teams. Hold them to expectations and work with them to achieve goals.
- Training and Development: Partner with direct reports to build strong/targeted training programs for their teams to improve measurable performance.
- Customer Service and Sales: Focus on providing exemplary customer service, including maintaining customer relationships and ensuring repeat customers by coaching your team to sell the right solutions and services.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence of industry regulations, restrictions, and laws.
- Team Engagement and Motivation: Promote enthusiasm and brand loyalty during daily huddles, team meetings, and 1:1's.
- Management Experience: 3+ years of management/supervisory experience, with P&L experience required.
- Industry Knowledge: Experience with, or deep respect for, the Skilled Trades and/or similar industries is a must (industry experience is preferred, especially if you have experience with forced air).
- Hydronics Training: Exposure to or willingness to train in hydronics would be a nice to have.
- Leadership and Competency: You're a leader and strong competitor who excels in a fast-paced environment, driven by seizing opportunities.
- Emotional Intelligence: You're able to consider strategic, financial, and operational capabilities with a high level of emotional intelligence to support a healthy, growing organization.
- Servant Leadership: A servant leader at your core who inspires the team by rolling up their sleeves to solve problems with them.
- Continuous Learning: Willing and able to learn and help train industry standards and best practices.
- Bonus Points: Bonus points if you're an MBA graduate and/or Military veteran (we love working with veterans).

The pay for this position is $160,000/year or more depending on job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and location. Other incentive pay may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, depending on the position offered.
