Position Overview

Are you a seasoned expert in real estate transactions and property acquisitions? The City of Denton is looking for a committed professional to become a part of their team as a Lead Real Estate Coordinator within the Development Services Department, specifically in the Real Estate Division. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing and negotiating real property interests in accordance with established regulations and guidelines. This position also includes mentoring junior staff, overseeing a variety of real estate transactions, and collaborating with external contractors.

Key Responsibilities
  • Facilitates negotiations and offers recommendations for effective project resolutions and land rights acquisition objectives.
  • Prepares essential documentation for real property transactions.
  • Coordinates the efforts of various professionals involved in public works initiatives.
  • Conducts technical reviews of real estate documents and reports.
  • Mentors junior staff and suggests operational enhancements.
  • Manages databases within the Real Estate Division and leads public presentations.
  • Builds cooperative relationships with stakeholders and represents the Division in community discussions.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Real Estate, Business, Public Administration, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant experience in real estate acquisitions for governmental entities.
  • SR/WA certification from the International Right of Way Association is preferred.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat.
