Job Overview

Family Matters Quality Care is seeking a dedicated full-time Support Specialist to assist a 26-year-old individual with special needs. The ideal candidate will work Monday through Friday, approximately 35-40 hours per week, from 9 AM to 5 PM. This role involves a personalized approach to care, focusing on fostering independence and enhancing daily living skills.

Key Responsibilities

The responsibilities of the Support Specialist include, but are not limited to:

  • Personal Care: Assisting with bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
  • Life Skills Development: Supporting with shopping, attending doctor appointments, and other essential activities.
  • Household Management: Performing chores such as laundry, trash disposal, dishwashing, bed making, and room cleaning.
  • Effective Communication: Providing cognitive direction, reminders, and maintaining daily paperwork and communication logs.
  • Engaging Activities: Planning and participating in enjoyable and stimulating activities.

The candidate must possess a valid driver's license and maintain a clean driving record. A background check will be required, and preference will be given to non-smokers.

About the Company

As a member of the Family Matters Quality Care team, you will be working closely with a private in-home family. This role may involve attending family events and participating in occasional family outings.
