Position Overview:

As a Lead Systems Architect, you will be responsible for:

  • Installing, configuring, and maintaining enterprise-level Redhat and SuSe Linux servers.
  • Designing, developing, and enhancing Linux-based solutions tailored for U.S. Bank and its clientele.
  • Engineering and configuring reliable, stable, and highly available IT solutions that align with the needs of our Infrastructure and Services teams.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive IT solutions, focusing on design, service integration, and system architecture.
  • Working alongside support teams to implement best-in-class automation practices, enhancing system stability and minimizing downtime.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or equivalent professional experience.
  • A minimum of 7 years in a general IT environment.
  • At least 7 years of experience in the design, development, and support of technology infrastructure.

Required Skills:

  • In-depth knowledge of installing, supporting, and configuring Redhat/Suse Linux operating systems and associated hardware.
  • Preferred experience of 10+ years in Linux systems performance optimization, troubleshooting, and backup/recovery processes.
  • Strong understanding of Linux networking, including Iptables, Firewall, TCP/IP, and UDP.
  • Proficient in virtualization technologies such as VMware, ESXI, vSphere client, vMotion, and KVM.
  • Extensive experience in configuring and troubleshooting OS Multipathing and HBA for SAN-connected storage.
  • Experience with high availability and clustering solutions, including Oracle RAC, Veritas, Redhat HA, and HADR clusters.
  • Ability to automate tasks using Shell scripting, Python, and other programming languages.
  • Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible, Salt Stack, Puppet, Chef, and Jenkins.
  • Proficient in using source control systems such as GitLab, GitHub, and Bitbucket.
  • Experience with CI/CD methodologies and tools like Jenkins for infrastructure management.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, capable of building relationships at all organizational levels.
  • Demonstrated project management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking abilities for effective problem-solving.
  • Detail-oriented with a comprehensive understanding of overarching goals and risk management.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure Cloud infrastructure is preferred.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure as code (IAC) using tools like HashiCorp Terraform and AWS CloudFormation.

Work Environment: This role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, requiring in-office attendance for three or more days per week, with the option to work remotely on other days.
