Phlebotomy Specialist

The Phlebotomist I role at Actalent involves assisting in the performance of various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This position requires experience in blood draws, labeling specimens, centrifuging specimens, recording maintenance data, and decontamination.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures
- Properly explaining the process of venipuncture and/or other specimen collection
- Matching laboratory requisition forms to specimen tubes
- Labeling, centrifuging, splitting, and freezing specimens as required by test order
- Checking test requisitions or computer labels against the script to ensure accuracy
- Packaging specimens for transport and storing specimen samples according to required temperature
Requirements:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
- Understanding and compliance with OSHA and DEP regulations
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
