Location: Peoria, Arizona

Compensation: $18.00 per hour

Employee Benefits:

Full-time team members working 30 hours or more per week will qualify for medical, dental, and life insurance plans starting the first of the month after full-time employment begins.

Full-time employees can accrue Paid Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 120 hours annually.

Employees are entitled to 7 paid holidays each year.

All team members aged 21 and over can enroll in the 401(k) plan after completing 30 days of service.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Golf Course Maintenance Technician is an entry-level role within the Golf Course Maintenance Team, tasked with the upkeep of the golf course. This position reports to the Assistant Superintendent and takes direction from various supervisory roles.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

Conduct bunker raking, mowing of greens and tees, and various hand mowing tasks. Follow instructions and complete tasks under the guidance of the Foreman and Superintendents; demonstrate a willingness to learn and enhance skills. Adhere to safety protocols and utilize all assigned personal protective equipment. Stay vigilant regarding safety standards and promptly report any unsafe conditions or incidents to a supervisor. Engage in daily communication with supervisors to address work challenges, concerns about the golf course, or suggestions for maintenance improvements. Perform daily refueling of vehicles and reload necessary materials. Maintain cleanliness and functionality of all equipment and report any issues to the mechanic or supervisor. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High School diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous experience in golf course maintenance or a related field is preferred. Documented experience in maintenance with references and work history. Bilingual in English and Spanish is advantageous. Understanding of proper bunker maintenance and general golf course upkeep with direct supervision. Growing knowledge of equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to operate various landscape maintenance tools and equipment. Capacity to read and interpret reports, plans, and safety documents. Eagerness to learn new skills and work independently. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and supervisors. Willingness to take responsibility for tasks and decisions. Consistent achievement of high work standards with attention to detail. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required. A valid driver's license may be necessary for vehicle operation.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This role is primarily outdoors.

Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts and varying weather conditions. The job may involve navigating uneven terrain and typical golf course obstacles. Occasional exposure to wildlife and other natural elements. Possible exposure to hazardous conditions, including fumes and chemicals. Noise levels may vary depending on equipment used. Compliance with personal protective equipment requirements is mandatory.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands of this position include:

Active engagement requiring standing, walking, lifting, and various physical activities throughout the shift. Ability to lift and/or move items weighing up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.
