Sedgwick County, a reputable government agency, offers an exciting opportunity for a Youth Program Manager in its Correctional Facility. As a key member of the team, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the safety and well-being of juvenile and adult clients in a 24-hour correctional or residential facility.

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to oversee the daily activities of our clients, providing guidance and support to help them achieve their goals. The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.

**Responsibilities:**

  • Supervise and monitor the care and security of juvenile and adult clients in detention or residential facilities
  • Lead recreation, instructional, or educational activities to promote social skills and personal growth
  • Conduct searches of clients in facilities and review reports to maintain awareness of activities within the facility
  • Initiate consequences when clients violate rules and write disciplinary reports
  • Provide situational counseling and crisis intervention as needed
  • Administer and document first aid and medication provided to clients

**Requirements:**

  • At least 21 years of age with a minimum of three years age difference between the staff member and the oldest client
  • Minimum of three earned college credits in adolescent development, psychology, criminal justice, or a related subject
  • Valid Driver's License and personal vehicle for use when county vehicle is not available (employee reimbursement provided)
  • First aid, CPR, and physical restraint certification or ability to acquire within initial period of employment

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • Associate of Arts (AA) degree with related coursework in criminal justice, psychology, sociology, or a related field
  • Two years' experience working with youth and families

**Salary:** The estimated salary for this position is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
