The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Skidmore College invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions in statistics and mathematics. These appointments will be at the rank of assistant professor.
Key Responsibilities- Teach a broad range of courses in statistics and mathematics, including introductory and advanced courses, and develop new courses for our First-Year Experience (FYE) seminar program and senior seminar.
- Develop and maintain a strong research program that involves undergraduate students and contributes to the field of statistics and mathematics.

- A strong commitment to excellence in teaching and research in an undergraduate liberal arts setting is essential.
- Experience with curriculum development and teaching in a liberal arts setting is preferred.
- Startup funds, pre- and post-tenure sabbaticals, and travel funds are available.
- A competitive salary range of $99,000 - $115,000.
Skidmore College is a highly selective, nationally ranked liberal arts college that fosters creative approaches to teaching and learning and values diversity. Our student population consists of approximately 2,650 undergraduates, of whom 26% are domestic students of color, 15% are first-generation college students, and 11% are international students.
With its relatively small size and low student-faculty ratio (8:1), the College is a close-knit academic community. The Department of Mathematics and Statistics, which consists of approximately 12 full-time faculty members, is located in Skidmore's Billie Tisch Center for Integrated Sciences, a state-of-the-art teaching and learning space that fosters unique interdisciplinary connections across the sciences, arts, and humanities.
