About the Job

The State of California is seeking a highly skilled Wildfire Prevention Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing wildfire prevention strategies in high-risk areas across the state. As a Wildfire Prevention Coordinator, you will work closely with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement wildfire prevention strategies in high-risk areas.
  • Collaborate with internal and external partners to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and policies.
  • Analyze environmental impacts of maintenance projects and develop reports on findings.
  • Coordinate with the Office of Vegetation and Wildfire Management to establish and maintain professional working relationships.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you must have a strong background in environmental conservation and management. You should have experience in planning and managing activities related to environmental documentation, National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA), and California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) resource laws and regulations.

A valid driver's license is required when operating a state-owned or leased vehicle. The selected candidate will be required to commute to the headquartered location as needed to meet operational needs.

Benefits

This position offers a competitive salary of $85,000 - $125,000 per year, depending on experience. The State of California also offers a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as a retirement plan.
