Paramedic EMT Pediatric Emergency Department

We are seeking a highly skilled Paramedic EMT to join our team in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Medical City Dallas. As a Paramedic EMT, you will provide direct patient care, within the scope of the Texas Paramedic/EMT Practice Act and under the direction of the Registered Nurse, in the Emergency Department.
Responsibilities- Assist with obtaining and documenting vital signs and placement of oxygen saturation, cardiac monitoring, and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring systems.
- Assist with other technical functions such as: obtaining 12-lead EKGs, discontinuation of peripheral IV and heparin/saline locks and maintenance and care of specimens for laboratory analysis.
- Assist with patient care and treatments including positioning patients, application of sterile dressings, immobilization of extremities, cast and splint applications.
- Complete basic psychomotor skills and activities related to care.
- Assist with wound care, insertion of Foley catheters and nasogastric tubes.
- Clean and stock carts, rooms, and change linen as required.
- Provide written instructions and/or educational materials to patients and family members.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support required
- Paramedic (EMT-P), or Emergency Medical Paramedic (EMP) required
- 1 year of 911 System or Hospital ED Experience required
- Advanced Cardiac Life Spt, or ACLS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
- PALS Pediatric Adv Life Supt, or PALS Instructor must be obtained within 6 months of employment start date
