Risk Management Specialist

Join Citigroup Inc. as a Spread Products In-Business Risk Officer and contribute to the growth of our trading and financing business across corporate credit, mortgage, and other securitized product asset classes.
Responsibilities:- Collaborate with trading desks and Independent Risk to identify, monitor, and manage market risk and capital, focusing on Mortgage Backed/Asset Backed products.
- Analyze market risk within trading inventory, considering key market themes and environments, and design hedging strategies as needed.
- Track product performances, understand market movements, and analyze trends to form a relative value and forward-looking view of material, concentration, and emerging risks.
- Develop a holistic understanding of risk and its implications on capital attributions, such as Stress losses and Value-at-Risk, and support business heads in analyzing return on capital and risk appetite ratio.
- Work with Independent Risk, Finance, and Technology to manage regulatory capital-related deliverables for Spread Products.
- Enhance existing pricing and risk models, automate manual processes, and improve risk and capital infrastructure with Quantitative Analytics, Technology teams, and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with Independent Risk to size appropriate risk limits for the overall business and monitor risk limit utilizations across businesses.
- Strengthen risk monitoring, control, and governance processes within the business.
- 3-5 years of experience in Market risk/trading analyst roles, with a good understanding of Mortgage Backed/Asset Backed products and their behavior in different market conditions.
- Strong understanding of various models (stress, prepayment, etc.) and securitization structures to work with Quant and Risk teams on various issues/projects.
- Familiarity with Basel 2.5 and FRTB rules.
- Strong ability to learn and understand new products, manage priorities, and communicate with internal partners.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, ability to understand complex ideas and projects, and strong ability to identify, articulate issues, and advocate solutions at both high and granular levels.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment under tight deadlines with changing priorities.
- Fluency in MS Excel, VBA, and basic programming skills (e.g., Python).
- Strong attention to detail, self-motivation, and interest in financial markets.
- Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially Masters degree.
