About the Job:

The Respiratory Care Specialist will serve as a team member in healthcare, establishing a personalized relationship with patients and their support system. The Specialist will collaborate with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory plans of care.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with physicians and other team members to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized respiratory plans of care.
  • Assist patients in navigating their health journey.
  • Administer and evaluate medication therapies, perform patient transfers, and transport patients to other departments.
  • Communicate individualized plans of care and patient progress to all members of the care team.
  • Maintain clinical and professional competencies, practice according to state requirements and standards.
  • Intervene when standards of care are not met, suggest, and implement improvement processes.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with team members and internal customers.

Requirements:

  • Associate's Degree/Certificate required, Bachelor's Degree preferred.
  • Registered by National Board of Respiratory Care and current RCP licensure in applicable state required.
  • BLS required upon hire, ACLS, NRP, and PALS to be completed within 90 days of hire date.
  • Additional skills/requirements: Completes 2 Respiratory Care competencies/year.

Physical Demands:
Medium to Heavy Physical Demand, standing and walking constantly, frequent bending/stooping and repetitive body movements.

Other:
May require the use of safety equipment, on call responsibilities as directed, ability to travel between campus buildings, remote facilities, and out of town as needed.
