Career Navigator Position

The Ivy Tech Marion Campus is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill the role of Career Navigator. This grant-funded position will be part of a program provided by the Indiana Commission for Higher Education, focusing on improving connections between schools, students, and employers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Build strong relationships with local schools and community partners to enhance career awareness and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with schools and employer groups to provide Career Discovery Meetings, as outlined in HEA 1002.
  • Coordinate enrollment and management for students eligible to utilize Career Scholarship Accounts (CSA).
  • Actively engage with school districts, employers, and community partners to create a robust career awareness continuum.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group Career Navigation for identified students.
  • Participate in Career Navigation Training and Certification programs and contribute to the school team completing a crosswalk through the Indiana Career Advising Framework.
  • Offer thoughtful and responsive support, including problem-solving across entities.
  • Plan, organize, and implement successful career connection strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze program data.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in higher education and with middle school and high school-age youth.

This is a part-time position, approximately 20-25 hours per week, during school hours. Some evening events may be required. The successful candidate will work out of the Ivy Tech Marion Campus and travel within the assigned counties and schools.
