Group Fitness Instructor

The Group Exercise Instructor is responsible for leading and teaching group exercise classes in a safe and effective manner. Classes such as Cycling, Body Sculpt, Hard Body, 45 Core, and Boot Camp are offered.

• Perform safe and effective group exercise classes
• Arrive before start of scheduled class time to set up and clock in according to the GEI clock-in policy
• Greet members and guests by name and deliver world-class customer service at all times
• Finding substitute instructors for own classes when needed and notifying Group Exercise Supervisor and/or Fitness Manager of changes
• Follow established procedures when equipment is found to be malfunctioning
• Be knowledgeable and aware of current information on all center programs, services, and activities, and promote them regularly
• Respond to all emergency situations according to facility policy and procedures
• Maintain high level of professionalism, in accordance with organizational standards of behavior
• Maintain continuously all annual education requirements (CBL's) and BLS/CPR certifications

• General group exercise or specialty certification in area of classes taught at HWC within 6 months of hire
• BLS (Basic Life Saving)/CPR certification required within 90 days of hire
• Excellent communication and customer service skills required
