Riverside County, CA is seeking a highly skilled Eligibility Technician I/II to join our team in the Department of Public Social Services. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for determining eligibility for various public assistance programs, interviewing applicants and recipients, and maintaining accurate and systematic records.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine eligibility for public assistance programs in accordance with established procedures
  • Interview applicants and recipients to gather information and clarify application and declaration forms
  • Maintain accurate and systematic records of eligibility determinations and other relevant information
  • Interpret program regulations and other pertinent material to applicants, recipients, and the general public
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred
  • Two years of general or specialized clerical experience required; experience in public contact, interviewing, math computations, or completing complex forms preferred
  • Knowledge of interviewing and record-keeping techniques, standard office procedures and practices, and Microsoft Office required
  • Ability to interview effectively in a variety of settings, accurately gather and record data, and correctly interpret rules and regulations
