Job Description

A New Leaf seeks an experienced Early Childhood Educator to inspire and nurture our preschoolers aged 3 to 5 within our enchanting Reggio Emilia inspired farm campus. Our environment features a variety of indoor and outdoor learning spaces, including vegetable and flower gardens, a forest, a pond, resident chickens and goats, an art studio, a light lab, and exploratorium.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with other faculty to plan the flow of explicit instruction and integrate the big picture of the emergent curriculum with activities and projects that address the Tennessee Standards and meet your students' individual needs.
  • Plan explorations, lessons, activities, and projects by writing the outline of lesson plans (called weekly explorations) weekly.
  • Create various types of documentation to reflect on your practices and make the learning visible to the students, families, and the community.
  • Develop portfolios for each of your students.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with other educators at our school and in professional development.
  • Prepare for parent-teacher conferences and parent engagement nights, as well as participate in such events and various festivals.
  • Maintain clean and tidy learning spaces consistent with health and safety standards.
Requirements
  • Child Development Associate's degree or
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Early Childhood Education or
  • Extensive experience in preschools or childcare centers.
