Ag/Commercial Lender Opportunity at York State Bank

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Ag/Commercial Lender to join our team at York State Bank. As a key member of our lending team, you will be responsible for developing and generating commercial and agricultural lending opportunities, interviewing clients and prospects, and collecting and analyzing financial data to determine creditworthiness.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop a strong team within the branch, including selecting, interviewing, hiring, and continually developing staff, mentoring, and evaluating individual team member performance.
  • Develop and generate commercial and agricultural lending opportunities, including structuring loan terms and conditions that meet client needs and Bank lending guidelines.
  • Interview clients and prospects seeking agricultural and commercial loans, and recommend approval or declination of loans within Bank policies.
  • Manage existing loan portfolio, including renewals, modifications, updated credit analysis, collections, and portfolio management.
  • Ensure a high level of credit quality and file documentation, and ensure that loan portfolio complies with all bank policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and develop new deposit relationships, and participate as a member of the bank's senior loan committee and asset-liability management.
  • Participate in strategic decision making and initiatives to maximize the growth, earnings, and efficiencies of the bank.
  • Frequently attend community functions, and serve on community boards and committees as requested.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or related field.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in ag and/or commercial lending.
  • Ability to read, understand, analyze, and interpret credit and financial information.
  • Strong understanding of credit underwriting and ability to relate to customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Ability to sell, present, and service bank products, and demonstrate a professional image with knowledge of ag and commercial lending.
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills.
