Job Summary:

As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist at SaintJoseph Health System, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of disease. You will be responsible for performing diagnostic and therapeutic radioisotope studies, administering prescribed radiopharmaceuticals and isotopes, and ensuring the quality control and record maintenance of the nuclear medicine department.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform diagnostic and therapeutic radioisotope studies to assist physicians in diagnosis and treatment of disease.
2. Administer prescribed radiopharmaceuticals and isotopes to patients.
3. Ensure quality control and record maintenance of the nuclear medicine department.
4. Assist in scheduling and coordinating patient exams within the daily schedule to ensure proper utilization.
5. Review patient charts and history to ensure the correct test is being performed and there are no counter indications for performing the study.

Requirements:

1. Actively demonstrates the organization's mission and core values and conducts oneself at all times in a manner consistent with these values.
2. Knows and adheres to all laws and regulations pertaining to patient health, safety, and medical information.
3. Assists in scheduling and coordinating patient exams within the daily schedule to ensure proper utilization.
4. Reviews patient's charts and history to ensure the correct test is being performed ensuring there are no counter indications for performing the study.
5. Orders and administers correct radiopharmaceuticals and dosages as needed for various patient exams.
6. Maintains adequate records of radioisotope receipt, use, storage, and disposal in accordance with state and federal regulations.
7. Transfers patients to imaging camera and assists with patient positioning and comfort.
8. Explains procedures in a clear, understandable manner to patients, family, and students.
