Work Schedule: Flexible hours from Sunday to Saturday | No supervisory duties | Minimal travel required | Compensation based on experience.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Radiologic Technologist is responsible for operating radiologic equipment to generate diagnostic images of the body as instructed by radiologists.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program recognized by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists or an equivalent.

Experience: A minimum of one year in radiology is preferred; however, less experienced candidates may be considered.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Registration with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) or eligibility for registration, with graduation required if eligible.
  • Current CPR certification.

WORKING HOURS: Monday to Friday during standard business hours. On-call, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts may be required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Accurately identify all patients prior to examinations and serve those referred for radiologic assessments.
  2. Position patients on examination tables and utilize immobilization devices to achieve optimal imaging of the requested body area.
  3. Capture images that adhere to departmental standards for quality.
  4. Communicate procedures to patients to alleviate anxiety and ensure cooperation.
  5. Adjust x-ray equipment settings based on established radiographic exposure techniques and protocols.
  6. Operate mobile x-ray equipment in various settings as needed.
  7. Demonstrate knowledge of improvement processes.
  8. Maintain reliability for on-call duties.
  9. Understand and manage the charging process, making adjustments as necessary.
  10. Document and relay all relevant clinical information to the Radiologist before patient discharge from the department.
  11. Follow departmental protocols for examinations and document any deviations.
  12. Record all medications and allergies in the system as per policy requirements.
  13. Possess knowledge of special procedures relevant to the role.
  14. Exhibit professionalism and a positive demeanor in the workplace.
  15. Show willingness to cross-train and pursue continuous improvement.
  16. Familiarity with PACS systems and the ability to make necessary adjustments before submission to the Radiologist.
  17. Proactively seek additional responsibilities during low patient volume periods.
  18. Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
