Instrumentation & Controls Engineer

Primoris Engineering is seeking a skilled Instrumentation & Controls Engineer to contribute to our engineering initiatives. This role is essential for the operational efficiency of midstream compressor stations, pumping facilities, storage tank farms, and liquid measurement systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Specify and select instrumentation such as transmitters, meters, switches, gauges, control valves, and actuated valves.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including instrument index, I/O lists, cause and effect diagrams, and control narratives.
- Conduct calculations for wake frequency, control valve sizing, and orifice plate sizing.
- Assist in developing network architecture, instrument location plans, wiring diagrams, and installation details.
- Collaborate with project teams to create P&IDs, system control philosophies, and alarm settings.
- Design and specify components such as PLC cabinets, remote I/O cabinets, electronic flow measurement systems, and SCADA systems.
- Prepare RFQ packages and perform technical evaluations during the procurement process.
- Conduct factory inspections and field assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in the industry.
- Familiarity with industry codes and standards including NEC, NFPA, ISA, IEC, API, and ASTM.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams).
Preferred Skills
- Experience with Bluebeam Studio for collaboration.
- Ability to utilize Navisworks for reviewing 3D models.
