About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified lifeguard to join our team at Loudoun County Government. As a lifeguard, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our community members who use our aquatic facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the use of aquatic facilities and equipment to ensure visitor and participant safety within the facility and compliance with applicable safety policies and practices.
  • Rescue distressed persons, using rescue techniques and equipment.
  • Contact emergency medical personnel in case of serious injury.
  • Provide emergency care and treatment as required.
  • Enforce pool rules.
  • Provide courteous and timely customer service to County staff, facility visitors and users.
  • Refer customers to appropriate staff.
  • May perform other essential job functions specific to the position and department assignment.
Requirements
  • Must be at least 15 years of age and hold the Red Cross Lifeguard Certification at time of hire, or obtain it within 30 days of hire.
  • Pass criminal background check.
  • Obtain Lifeguard Certification; First Aid Certification; Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification.
