Job Summary

The Locomotive Engineer/Conductor is responsible for overseeing the safe and efficient movement of trains, freight, and crew. This role requires strong communication and problem-solving skills, as well as the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate trains safely and efficiently, adhering to operating rules and regulations.
  • Manage train movements, including coupling and uncoupling cars, and placing cars in rail yards and on the main railroad.
  • Ensure clear communication with dispatchers and track authorities, receiving and relaying instructions as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance and inspections on trains and equipment.
  • Collaborate with train crews to ensure safe and efficient train operations.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2-3 years of experience in train services or a related field.
  • Aptitude for the transportation industry and a desire to learn.
  • Pass post-offer job and health-related examinations, including operating rules examination, vision, and hearing tests.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in rail transportation.
  • FRA Conductor Certified.
  • FRA Locomotive Engineer Certified (required post-hire).
Work Environment and Travel

Exposure to various weather conditions, including hot, cold, wet, humid, or windy conditions. Daily travel as business requires during scheduled work hours.
