Position Overview


The Housekeeping Team Leader is tasked with coordinating the schedules of housekeeping personnel, delegating responsibilities to the cleaning staff, and evaluating their performance in guest accommodations and communal areas.

This role requires the ability to implement corrective measures when necessary to enhance the overall performance of each team member involved in housekeeping duties.

The Team Leader will actively foster and promote exceptional service skills while interacting with clients, guests, and colleagues.


Position Type and Work Schedule

This is a full-time position eligible for benefits.

The individual must be adaptable to work on various days of the week, including weekends and holidays, depending on operational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Instruct housekeeping staff on cleaning and maintenance procedures.
  • Supervise housekeeping personnel on a daily basis.
  • Assess rooms and public spaces for accuracy and completion according to brand standards.
  • Organize shifts and arrange for coverage in case of absences.
  • Must be capable of executing essential housekeeping tasks while adhering to brand time expectations.
  • Uphold high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including compliance with dress code and uniform policies.
  • Maintain a professional and approachable demeanor at all times.
  • Be attentive, courteous, and efficient in interactions with guests, management, and fellow employees.
  • Consistently adhere to brand standards and regulations to promote safe and effective hotel operations.
  • Establish and maintain effective communication and teamwork with colleagues and other departments within the establishment.
  • Exhibit a helpful and willing attitude to fulfill guest requests.
  • Collaborate with other hotel staff to accommodate special guest needs.
  • Encourage a team-oriented mindset for the benefit of the hotel.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned by management.
Work Environment

This position will be situated within a hotel, primarily engaging in guest rooms, hotel facilities, and public areas.

  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to handle or feel objects, reach with hands and arms, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, or hear.

  • Must be capable of bending, stooping, and working on knees to perform tasks such as scrubbing toilets, tubs, cleaning tiles, and organizing items.

Required Qualifications

  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  • Demonstrates initiative, responsibility, and adaptability.
  • Strong time management abilities.
  • Exhibits a friendly, cooperative attitude and patience when interacting with customers and staff.
  • Must communicate clearly and professionally in English with coworkers, management, and guests, both in writing and verbally.
