Job Summary:

The primary function of this position is to prepare, prime, and paint fabricated parts used in the manufacturing process. The successful candidate will have experience with powder coat and/or wet paint spraying techniques.

Essential Duties:
  • Clean and paint manufactured products to the highest skill level
  • Prepare metal surfaces for coating by sanding/abrading and pre-cleaning
  • Masks off areas not to be painted efficiently
  • Tack off metal surfaces to ensure a clean, dirt-free surface
  • Spray wet coatings onto prepared surfaces using high volume/low pressure spray guns
  • Utilize a mil thickness testing gauge to determine if the appropriate amount of paint has been applied
  • Inspect parts for flaws before and after painting
  • Perform operator maintenance on paint booths and spray equipment
  • Accurately report shop floor production data
  • Follow visual and written work instructions to complete tasks within set timeframes
  • Support the mission, values, and culture of the organization
  • Adhere to quality and safety standards
  • Support other projects and perform duties as assigned
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of paint application processes, equipment, and materials
  • Ability to select the proper paint and chemicals for the job
  • Experience with body filler and caulking/sealing
  • Ability to work overtime when necessary, including weekends
